As a Synod we are committed to our mission, “Sent by the Crucified and Risen Jesus to Make Disciples, Equip Leaders, Strengthen Parishes, and Nurture New Communities for the Renewal of Northwestern Ohio and the World”. Through the Innovator Learning Academy (ILA), we are equipping leaders to make disciples and nurture new communities. Innovators are people called by God to see and creatively respond to the Holy Spirit’s call to form and nurture new faith communities. The purpose of the ILA is to equip lay and ordained folks to cultivate new Christian communities and other forms of innovative ministry in their unique contexts throughout the Northwestern Ohio Synod. Working in collaboration with a team of scholars, practitioners, pastors, cultivators, and coaches, the ILA values experiential learning, individualized coaching, and collaborative conversation. Some of the themes we explore in ILA learning include: - Telling “Jesus Stories”
- Lutheranism and Innovation
- Contextual intelligence
- Soul Care of the Innovator
- Blended Ecology
- Loving First Cycle
- Values Based Ministry
